Making the Most of Your Day in Montego Bay, Jamaica

The biggest concern vacationers have is whether or not they will get an authentic Jamaican experience. My answer is to do a little bit of everything so that you will have a wider understanding of Jamaica. Montego Bay is at the centre of most of the fun and frolic on the North coast. It is pretty easy to get to Negril or o go to Ocho Rios so a Mobay it deh.
The best things to do I would say depends on ones tastes. There is more than enough variety for everyone. Montego Bay is known for the Hip Strip and a vibrant nigh clubbing activity.  From Montego Bay you can sample jerk, visit the Bob Marley Mausoleum at Nine Miles, go scuba diving, fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, parasailing and any water activity  that you can think of.
In Montego Bay there is also Richmond Inn with its awesome view of the city. You can visit farms, schools, rivers, homesteads and so much more.
You name it; it is in, or near to, Montego Bay, Jamaica. So here we go:

.........Local River Rafting and Community Tour.........
The sightseeing in Montego Bay is to die for. It is hard to believe that just outside of the town you are able to see some of the best views in Jamaica. the Richmond Inn tour is impressive. make sure your camera has lots of storage because you will be snapping non stop.

Then, Just 20 minutes outside of Montego Bay is the coolest, laziest river rafting or river tubing experience that one can find. It’s great to cool off in a natural setting and enjoy a coconut tree climbing show. On the menu, you can get roast breadfruit, roast yam or any quick Jamaican treat. This one is just an easy jamming by the riverside.

.....Bob Marley Mausoleum at Nine Mile....
The first music that visitors want to hear is Bob Marley. Yes, believe it or not. For locals there are so many great singers to choose from, but for visitors there is only one immortal: Bob Marley.  Going to Nine Mile is not for the half hour travelers. Nope, this trip is a 2hr drive from Montego bay, on a nice winding road. The road is not bumpy or rough but it’s a little long. Is the trip worth it? Yes, indeed! For the Marley fans its heaven on earth. You might even be lucky enough to  meet some of his family members and hear about him from those who lived with him. I will wait until you experience it r yourself but I would also suggest that you go prepare to take the ganja farm tour and experience the entire package. Make this a day trip because you need time to enjoy it and do a little meditation yourself.
There is always time for a swim at any nearby beach and a little shopping.
____  __________
....................................The Bee Farm......................................
Would you like to visit the bee farm? You can tour the bee’s natural habitat and learn all about the process of honey making. Yes, you can get honey and get stung by a bee for a small fee. Of course, once the bee stings it will die, but you will be cured of whatever ails you. So you need to decide if it is a tradeoff that you will live with.
Apart from that there is the matter of getting raw honey to purchase and sitting for hours in a cool hammock just relaxing and getting some sun and reggae.
Of course, if you want to go chill by the beach you can get a day pass to the hotel’s beach. So what do you say, bees and beach anyone?

................Crocodile Safari Tour and Pelicans Bar................
Hmnn... who would have thought that a crocodile tour could be so much fun. Well, this one will rival Ripley's Believe It or Not! I am not a fan of crocodiles but I enjoy this tour immensely each time. It's  a long drive but oh boy is it worth it!!

The tranquility of the area, and just watching the crocodiles as they live in a natural setting is unbelievable. You can go for a swim, or not!!

Then after the crocodile tour there is the awesomeness of getting a boat ride to Pelican's bar. Just imagine being in a dingy boat for a twenty minute ride. That's a first rate tour right there.  Incredible!!!.

Then top it off with some beer and good food at Pelican Bar or just go for a swim. Just go experience it  for yourself. That will be a day extremely well spent.
