Jamaican Peanut Porridge

Porridge is a big part of Jamaican culture. I don’t know if in other countries they drink as much porridge or place as much emphasis on porridge. (Please let me know in your comments.)   In Jamaica, porridge is a must have for babies and especially persons who are convalescent. There are as many types of porridges as you can imagine, however, the most popular are 1) Cornmeal Porridge 2) Plantain or Banana Porridge  3) Peanut Porridge  4) Hominy Corn Porridge 5) Oats porridge with Foska Oats being one of the most popular oats in Jamaica. Porridge is synonymous with good health. The porridge is easy to digest hence it is used as a great starter food for babies, especially cornmeal porridge.
