How to  Prepare Irish Moss Irish Moss can be prepared in two ways. The traditional way is by soaking and then boiling. Many persons are however using Irish Moss Raw. So after soaking the sea moss they just blend it and consume it. However, I will speak to the Jamaican traditional method of preparing Irish Moss.   How to boil Irish Moss?  Irish Moss is pretty simple to prepare. Once you have purchased the moss from a reputable source, the next step is to soak it in some water (add a little lime juice) for about thirty minutes, some people soak it overnight.
